This Wellness Retreat is Combining traditional modern medical practices with ancient practices and unifying the complete picture of health and wellness.

A One Day Wellness RetreatINTRO TO WELLNESS-U, is the chance to spend a day of fun and learning about a variety of subjects relative to complete health and wellness.

The Intro to Wellness U  Wellness Retreat is an all encompassing day filled with presentations and activities geared towards learning and fun with experts in their field. Dr. Dalal Akoury, MD and the staff at AWAREMed are offering the public an opportunity to spend the day at the AWAREMed facility and learn about what to expect as a potential patient or participant in future, more condition focused retreats. The atmosphere and the experience will be relaxed with concentration on spirit, mind and body activities, sponsors and short presentations.

Each individual is in a different stage of health and wellness, but the best place to start improving life is right where you are, whether you are just wanting to learn more about fitness and nutrition, or whether you are considering treatment for a specific disease or condition. Each component of the retreat is designed to be all inclusive, no matter what your size, shape, or condition may be, you will be comfortable and respected. Always an important component to good health is activities that are fun, creating not only a way for the body to become more fit, increasing endorphins, but also creating laughter. Presentations and activities are planned around general health topics and fun filled exercise, yoga, cooking, juicing and much more. Yoga

Yoga isn’t just for skinny people who can bend into poses. There are postures and stretches available for every body type and age group. Along with the benefit to the body, there are also benefits abound for the mind and spirit. Try a yoga class at the retreat and take home the instruction to continue. Or you may wish to visit a studio where yoga is practiced with others. At the One Day Wellness Retreat attendees will have the chance to experience “chair” yoga and traditional yoga instruction sponsored by Inlet Yoga Studio owner, Mari Beth McKenzie so no matter what your physical state you can participate if you want to. If you are a first timer or have been instructed in yoga, you will take away the knowledge of what yoga can do for your state of well being and health.

Juicing

Do you know the extreme benefits of juicing fresh vegetables and fruits? Do you know certain combinations are helpful benefits to certain conditions and ailments? At the One Day Retreat you will be treated to a juicing demonstration and ‘tasting’ so everyone can get an idea of how to simply make nature’s medicines.

Meditation

No, you don’t have to spend hours reciting a mantra or prepare a special space unless you wish to devote the time. You can learn to meditate for 5-10 minutes at a time and feel positive results. So whether you have never mediated before, or if you’re familiar with some forms of meditation, the retreat will enhance your experience and perhaps bring more enlightenment into your life. When we go inward during meditation we are able to see and feel more clearly what our soul desires and needs. No matter what your faith or religion, meditation can help you tune into a deeper understanding of the divine spiritual world.

Nutrition

Yes, “you are what you eat!” If you find yourself exhibiting negative symptoms, you may need to take stock of what you’re eating and how certain foods make you feel. It may be time to safely detox your body and refill it with foods that are conducive to your best health and wellness. Learn about good foods and foods you should avoid at all cost at the one day retreat and sit down to experience a demonstrations and a healthy lunch!
